We headed to Grand Lake St. Marys State Park Campground expecting a peaceful lakeside camping getaway at Ohio’s largest inland lake. What we found when we arrived, though, was not what we expected.

From the moment we stepped outside, something felt off. Between the smell, dead fish along the shoreline, and warning signs near the water, we started wondering if this trip was going to be a total bust.

But instead of packing up and leaving, we decided to stay and make the most of it.
